The Catalyst

This new flagship building is in the heart of the Helix, a new community for innovation for tech and science organisations.

Our interiors partner Design North were appointed in February 2018 to be responsible for the interior design for this unique building – housing public space, and offices and collaboration spaces for research and commercial enterprises. The ground and first floors had to cater for people with physical and mental ailments in relation to ageing – including Dementia.

Design North are bringing their unique experiences in design for dementia to this building whilst ensuring it doesn’t feel ‘Institutional’. The work includes space planning and designing the office areas for the Innovation Centres, developing the interior design concepts for all shared collaboration spaces.
