Howdon Metro Station

Sadler Brown were appointed as architects for the re-invigoration of the Metro All Change modernisation project.

The £385m project involved the refurbishment of the existing stations over a period of 11 years.

The whole station was re-clad in vitreous panelling which gave the station a much sleeker more modern appearance.

A new roof canopy was constructed alongside improved access and resurfaced platforms to enhance customer experience. The station also benefited from new seating areas and an upgraded ticket hall with new ticket machines.
