SBA Support Universities At Schools Engagement Day

SBA were proud to support the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium Ltd (NEUPC) and Newcastle University in their recent Engagement Day, with Joanna Pullan and David Davies hosting a workshop for the day.

The event was held in the brand new Frederick Douglass Centre at Newcastle Helix, and provided 12 construction industry workshops for over 140 children to take part in from 6 local schools. The event gave these children a chance to explore the extensive list of career options open to them within the construction industry.

SBA held a bridge building workshop, introducing elements of planning, architectural design, sustainability, financial consideration and structural design- and of course finishing with competitive edge!

David Davies, Director at SBA, said “it was a wonderful day, seeing how engaged and interested the children were was such a pleasure. It has been a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience so many of the diverse and wide ranging aspects of the construction industry in just one day; especially at such an impressionable age when choosing their GCSE’s.”
