Public Consultation for Development Project near Oban, Scotland

Last week we attended a public consultation event for an exciting project close to Connel,  Argyll and Bute. David Davies who is heading up the Masterplanning and Architectural design presented the proposed scheme to a group of local residents and councillors.

The proposed development is situated between Oban and Connel and has been highlighted as an area for redevelopment by the local council for some time. Looking out across Ardmucknish Bay, the site has spectacular views and easy access onto the A85 which runs immediately past the site.

The scheme presented shows a marina and new resort which hopes to bring employment opportunities to the local community and increase economic activity in the region through tourists visiting and staying at the site. The purpose of the consultation was to share the early concepts for the site and to give local residents an opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback and further understand the emerging proposals.

It was a valuable and enlightening experience and a brilliant opportunity to meet and engage with residents, building the foundations for a collaborative working relationship with the local community in the future.
