Architects Group and Design North Shortlisted for Insider Media Awards 2026

Architects Group and Design North have been shortlisted for two awards by Insider Media’s North East Property Awards 2026

The annual awards celebrate the best projects, companies and professionals in the North East property sector, with finalists selected by an independent panel of industry experts who assess submissions from the past 12 months.

Architects Group have been shortlisted for their work on Prospect Place, a new build supported housing development in Pelaw, for ‘Residential Development of the Year’, delivered in collaboration with Tyne Housing, Portland Consulting Engineers and Brims Construction. The project forms part of a wider collaborative initiative involving both local and national partners, including Gateshead Council and Homes England, aimed at addressing homelessness through the provision of high-quality, long-term accommodation.

From the outset, Architects Group worked in close partnership with Tyne Housing to establish a clear and robust project brief. The architectural concept draws inspiration from the traditional Tyneside flat typology, reinterpreting this familiar vernacular to provide each resident with their own front door – promoting autonomy and a sense of ownership. In its completed form, the project demonstrates how good design can contribute meaningfully to tackling homelessness and supporting sustainable, independent living.

Design North have been shortlisted for Parkdean’s new HQ in Gosforth Business Park, which was delivered in collaboration with Architects-Group as well as Lantern Building Consultancy, Kinetic Engineers, Sweco Building Control and Chameleon Business Interiors. Design North led the interior design of the office fit-out, further contributing to their wide-ranging portfolio of workplace projects. The design and fit out of Parkdean Resorts has created spaces for break out, collaboration and social interaction, to encourage knowledge sharing and promote productivity, set against a backdrop reflecting the company brand. Parkdean’s inclusion on the shortlist reflects the continued investment in high-quality workspace projects in the region and highlights Design North’s role in shaping modern office environments in the North East.

The awards will be held at the Hilton, Gateshead on 7th May 2026, where the winners will be announced. The shortlist provides acknowledgement of high quality design and recognition of both Architects Group and Design North striving for the best for their clients and project end users.
